What kind of music have you all been listening to.

Howdy

been a while so I thought I would check in on what my fellow pub dwellers have been listening to, and what are some of your favourite albums in general. Right now i've been getting into AIC, favourites being We Die Young and Nutshell. Some of my favourite albums in general are, The Bends by Radiohead, as well as Pornography by The Cure. My fav song ever is The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel. What have you all been listening to, and what are some favourites.

I am currently listening to the German band Can's debut album. I also tried Kraftwerk, though haven't listened to their whole discography yet.

Well, "Bloody Power Fame" by coldrain might have been the opening theme for season one of BASTARD!! on Netflix, but it's also a good song for deadlifts. Likewise "in case..." by BiSH, which was used in GODZILLA: SINGULAR POINT.

I've still been playing IMPERA by Ghost often, as well as LUCIFER II by Lucifer and their new release LUCIFER V. Not to mention THE SYMBOL REMAINS by the Blue Oyster Cult and RE IMAGINOS by Albert Bouchard.

Bouchard has a couple more IMAGINOS albums full of reworked BOC bangers with some original material, but I think the first album is the strongest of the lot.

Last night I checked out POWERLORDS by a new Italian power metal act called Elettra Storm. Pretty solid if you like your lyrics dripping with cheese.

I had also started listening to Symphony X again, mainly their 2011 album ICONOCLAST and 2000's V: THE NEW MYTHOLOGY SUITE.

And there's always room for Hiromi Uehara. And there are new albums by Bruce Dickinson and Judas Priest on the way.

I listen to a lot of hyperpop and a lot of math rock. lately I’ve been really enjoying Covet, I look up to the main guitarist a lot (Yvette Young) as well as Invalids, one of the members of Invalids is trans so that’s a bonus point. She’s also in my favorite band, Good Game. Good Game’s latest album is completely about being trans (if you know where to look) which is just so cool.

I've been listening a lot to this song by Arvo Pärt "My hearth's in the highlands". It is adapted from a poem.

This song is the closest I have seen in my life to what "magic" is. It lasts 9 minutes, and the first time you listen to it, it's nine minutes that are completely out of time.

I live particularly this guitar version by Piers Faccini

Lately I've been digging the Beatles, my dad bought a lot of their CDs a few months back and I ripped them onto my computer. My favourite album of theirs is definitely Beatles for Sale, save for Mr Moonlight, all the songs on there are really good. I'm also quite fond of Limp Bizkit, I think people see them as a joke most of the time, but Fred Durst has a really cool aura about him that really shines through his vocal style.

1920s-30s era jazz was a big thing for me a little while back, I really liked this one dude called "whispering jack smith". He's got this soft, deep baritone crooner-esque way of singing, and every song he sings feels as though he's singing to you. I'm sure the guy died ages ago, but I do so love his music. Hell, even 1910s-era music is nice, especially the music hall stuff with Ada Jones and Billy Murray. Most people know them for doing "Come Josephine in my Flying Machine", which got popular a little while back because it was featured in the Titanic film. But their song "Kiss me, Honey I love You" is by far my favourite out of all their recordings.

Howdy, ~kai!

~bartender? Just coffee, please. What? No, I won't pick the juke box apart, promised! YESSS, promised!

Ok, with that out of the way ...

But I have far too many and too diverse (Frank Zappa? Conlon Nancarrow? Astor Piazolla? Quadro Nuevo? Orphy Robinson? ... whatever) albums and CDs to even start listing.

Cheers!
