Seventeen Years

~starbreaker

Seventeen years ago I was putting on my tux, sure I was going to forget the wedding vows I had written because the traditional ones didn't suit what I felt.

Now she's sleeping beside me. She's not the same woman I married, but I'm not the same man either. She's still beautiful to me, and I still crave the sound of her voice.

I may have had doubts beforehand, but I've never had any regrets.

Woooaahh congratulations!!

I'm not married but it will be 7 years now since meeting her. We have a child now, which I feel it's more of a commitment than marriage.

We're already not the same person that we were before, but I love her more than ever and we understand each other and get along better than ever. I hope it keeps improving as it has these years.

Cheers to a good life together! For you, for us, for everyone that is happy.

Raising a kid together is a legitimate commitment, though, and probably harder without the default financial/legal arrangements that come with a civil marriage. Congratulations on keeping it going for seven years.

Congrats, man! I only put on my tux two years ago, so I can only imagine what seventeen feels like -- but if it's basically these two years x 8, I'm sold!

Here's to the bold ones!

Thanks. Congratulations to you, too.

Congrats! On my side it's going to be 24 years in a week. I might have movies in my mind about other branches of possible lifes in parallel universes, but at daylight: no, I don't regret that decision either.

~bartender? A fine Scotch for me next week, and whatever ~starbreaker pleases right now. It's on me.

Cheers, mate!
