As a few of you may have worked out by now i love to tell stories, sharing interesting concepts is one of my favorite things to do, and i have a lot of ideas for stories!
but last night i found myself coming to the realisation that the reason i've struggled so hard with writing those stories, and similarly the reason i failed many of my classes in school, is that my brain works in the opposite way to english.
in my brain, the how a thought is shared is much more important then the specific words that are used to describe it, english has a bit of that, like sarcasm often depends on how something is said, however the majority of english especially in writing cares more about what words are said.
luckily ive found auslan to be the opposite to english as well, which explains why i have found it so easy to learn and understand. how you sign something matters much more then what you sign.
but i would still like to be able to write stories in english, as its the only language that i am versed well enough in to do so (as auslan has no writing system)
