Welcome aboard hotshot
This is my first post here, and I am not very familiar with the etiquette, although I think I get a basic understanding. This space feels like a private semi anonymous place where to vent out about life, although none seems really to hide who they are, like in the original social media… just like in a pub.
Who knows, maybe I will be here talking to the empty void, or maybe I will find a community to share.
~bartender, can I have the menu, please?
nice to have ya, ~threkk. do feel free to vent, however also you should try talking at great length about your interests. it’s quite validating to have people engage with them in the replies so well.
Howdy ~threkk, welcome to The Midnight!
Instead of venting, you might consider sharing something nice or magic you encountered today. Or something that struck your mind. These folks here are reading! Everything! So, don't expect to write into the void.
Cheers!
Alright, let's stay positive then!
Hello threkk,
you may vent any time, I won't troll you for that. I just think we forget the little nice things all too often. Me included. :)
So, good thing for me: I received new glasses about 3 weeks ago, and they enable me reading printed text again, reading on the screen again with normal distance and font size, and even driving again. Those things had been reduced a lot in the recent past. I did suffer from ablatio retinae several times in the last half year, no fun. However, I shall go back to work next week.
~bartender? Just coffee with cream and sugar, please. Thanks!
And another good thing: I am dabbling with microcontrollers, little electronics stuff, and even small printed circuit boards, which I designed myself. About 5 years ago I started a new generation of software/hardware for my data acquisition stuff. I failed miserably. I could not get things to become stable at all. A sensor and a receiver would happily work for some amount of time, even two weeks maybe, and then stall for some completely obscure reason. I never found out, why. I dismissed the whole idea. I made a new start last summer, and with interruptions worked on it again, going back to an earlier version of the underlying software and better hardware. These days I succeeded several times in programming a controller over a (still short) rs485 cable connection --- a thing that would just not work out ever before. :)
Ok, this is highly technical "good news", however, this is what I do in my spare time.
So, I kindly suggest to anyone, who cares to read, to be prepared to recognize something nice any time. And smile!
Cheers!
