Its the early afternoon, it rains and suddenly it occures to me that i haven't visited the pub for a long time, so instead of driving directly home i take a little detour...
"Barkeeper, my i get a coffee please?"
Its weird when you realise how fast time can progress, i mean, the one moment you are still freezing at a bus stop in the midst of winter and now its full on summer, just a perceived day later. I am sure "running through the day" like i do at the moment doesn't help either, with elderly parents and a very young kid it never gets boring ;-)
Well, at least over the last two to three weeks i was able to slow a bit down and give away some projects or managed to shift the due date of those projects a few miles more down the road. Being able to do things like that let me appreciate my current job a bit more: The pay is not BAD (but not really good either), the stress level swings between "BOOOORING" and blood sweating hyperstress and the responsibilities are high, but the freedom i have is very nice.
At the moment, while my senses are coming back together bit by bit i started to do more things away from the keyboard while at home... there is a garden which hasen't seen attention in ages, an old house that just waits to surprise me with new quirks and catastrophes. The interesting thing is, that - after having hated every moment of remodelling our home - i now start to enjoy manual labor.
Well, enough of my incoherent rambling, there is a wife and a kid waiting at home, so... *waving his hand and leaving the pub*
