It's not every day you get to see rain and sparks dancing high above together.
Today was one of those, except the sky was paint and the rain was kvass.

i live in arkansas, and back in november, my wife and i got to see the northern lights in all their glory right here in our state. i always thought i'd have to go to alaska/canada to see this beautiful phenomenon, but got extremely lucky, as i live way out in the woods with no light pollution.
sometimes, nature has a show in store for us - we just have to have our eyes peeled and ready for it, no matter what it is.

Is it true you can only see the lights through a camera lens ?
usually this is the case, but last november there was a very intense geomagnetic storm, and we were able to see them with the naked eye. it was absolutely beautiful. if you would have told me a few years ago we'd be seeing the northern lights at all in arkansas, not to mention with the naked eye, i'd have called you crazy, but here we are lol. i have some pics of the event on my fediverse profile:

the cool part was just a day after those pics were taken, we also had a meteor shower going on. was an amazing week to see shows in the night sky.
