the afternoon is nice amongst my rgbs

hi this is my first time visiting the pub, although im not much of a drinker i enjoy the vibe here so far. i like this feeling of a warm space in the company of strangers sharing their thoughts, its a nice alternative to the algorithmic hell i’m so sick of.

iv spent a lot of time today thinking about a particular simpsons couch gag by Don Hertzfeldt, the one where we see a version of the show in the far future where the characters are distorted beyond recognition, they seem like theyve been reduced to some kind of primal form in an eternal existence and barely clinging onto their remaining character traits. its kind of an existential feeling about how the show has changed since its inception… theyre kind of stuck in that 22 minute loop forever where everything goes back to normal but the world is always changing, like they refuse to grow up or maybe they cant. its kind of depressingly relatable to me
