Ending summer

Strange. August has just begun and the first geese already are heading south. The nights are unusually chill and the days mostly windy and rainy. Better hope that the upcoming winter won't be a strong one, as the last one was exceptionally warm.

For now, at least, the warmth of this coffee will get me through another cool night.

Summer is too far away to end in my country, Spain, and the heat is terrible. I hope autumn will come soon.

It is a mid summer in central europe. Thought it feels like fall now.

More like another April, given how much it has been raining in some parts of Central Europe. Kind of makes you feel bad for the Mediterranean that still deal with heat and droughts.

The nights have been unseasonably chilly here as well, it does feel like Fall is creeping in faster than usual. Went on a bike ride with the wife to a local pizza shop a couple nights ago, the ride home was freezing. Should have taken a light jacket!

Once that season approaches, you better remind me to get my nose stuffed.

While it's not entirely unusual in some strangely isolated parts of Europe, it certainly became a less common occurrence. Don't forget that jacket when stargazing!

Isn't 1 August the first day of autumn in the traditional Celtic calendar? Or was that a neopagan invention?
