"interaction, without any distraction"... what a relief, isn't it?
The front door slowly opens and a man enters the pub. While he walks towards the bar, he casualy checks the people present. Military jacket, boots, back-pack, green fluffy pants. He looks more like a Sasquatch then a guy that came from military.
"I get a beer, from the tap, pleas" While the barman pours the beer, i put the business card on the counter:"Is that ok?". It has some ASCII art and m15o written on it. He hands me the beer with one hand and takes the card with the other. It lands in the back pocket of his trousers, without looking at it. "Its ok. Welcome!" and gives me a welcome smile, that i cant decipher. I turn around, look for an empty table and check once more the people inside. I make a sip of the cold beer and leave the foam on my mustache. Sure i must look even more silly now, but i dont care. This is all i have and with the beer in my hand i feel i dont need anything more. With a slow phase i moove towards the empty table in the back. I decide, that if i get some signal from anyone before reaching the empty table, ill join them, else i just take a good rest, have the beer and a little retrospective of the past period with it.
I notice a friendly nod from a person drinking coffee. I see some cream above his upper lip and looking at the cup, he might have ordered a "Kapuziner" or maybe "Franziskaner". He is sitting with two other guys at a table. I reply with a smile and ask if i may join. I notice no objection on the faces, put the beer on the table and the backpack on the floor. Wipe my mustache into the sleeve of the jacket, take it off and rest it on back of the chair. I sit down, make another sip, to clear my throat, lift the glass as a toast to the people present.
You can call me samo
I get a reply, also the guy sitting at the remote table lifts his drink. I was not able to note all of the names, but i feel like i was accepted and am welcome. A big gulp replenishes my stamina. The long walk exsausted me and the beer is refreshing and nutritious. If i would have any change on me i would maybe go for an Egg Toast... Another gulp of beer makes me forget about the food. And i listen to the conversation going on. Its about death and fear. I listen closely and observe. Interesting bunch has gathered here. Much diferent than the regular pubs where people gather to waste their time in getting drunk and talking nonsense... Space looks different, strange. With the odd-looking bookshelf and the old-looking arcade machine, for an eye that is not trained in observation it could be labeled as "retro". But i feel, this is the future. It is interaction, without any distraction, that i like a lot.
I try to join the conversation"interaction, without any distraction"... what a relief, isn't it?
I browse the video archive of youtube through this service:

Tracker regards the newcomer with a friendly gaze and lifts his flatcap in greeting.
"Welcome to the pub, ~samo. All are welcome here. The drinks flow freely and so do the conversations. Cheers!"
Cheers!
We have some interest in common ~tracker. I ordered a mongolian yurt recently. Its second hand, diameter around 5meters i think... Ill share the details and some photos when it gets here. Maybe i convert it into observation unit for an offgrid research center... Thanks for the nice welcome.
I finish the beer, take my stuff and head towards my new home on the Main street - the Grey skyskraper. I can see the tip of it from the Small alley. I shout as loud as i can:"I will become a regular in this pub!". An echo returns from the Small alley mixed with honking from the cars on the Main street...
Tracker smiles encouragingly.
"I hope you have as much fun with your yurt as I have had with mine. Living in the round is beautiful and inspiring but also comes along with a number of challenges not present in traditionally rectangular structures. You'll have to decide for yourself whether the pros outweigh the cons. For me, they certainly have."
