Hope you're doing well, winter. Always enjoyed reading your posts.
Vegetable garden's weeded, vegetable garden's tilled, potatoes are planted, carrots too. Cucumbers'll wait a few more weeks, we might still get some cold. A light water, and then rain later in the day. Nice to have something ticked off the spring to-do list.
Congrats! I can only say, that I put some thyme into pots :) Need to do the mints, too. And I moved that big thing outside, hold on ... Beaucarnea recurvata is apparently its proper name. The one I moved is about 2 meters tall :) I got it from a long ago but not forgotten girl friend (circa 1983) and it is still there, however, it has grown by 1.5 orders of magnitude or so.
~bartender? Has the home made lemonade season started yet? Oh, just today? Great! So I'll have a pitcher of that. Thank you!
That plant's nearly as old as me! Amazing you've kept it going so long. I think the longest-lived thing we've got is the pot of succulents we started around a decade ago, and which is now a giant aloe plant (currently flowering) and its friends.
My Mom took care of it while I was away (university time), but I picked it up soon after moving to a new place with my wife to be. Yes, it is amazing nonetheless. And I would not let go of it easily ... wikipedia says: there are registered Beaucarnea in Mexico aged over 300 years. So, it apparently can go for a while :)
