FWIW, while my wife does the bread baking, I do a different kind of baking, which is sometimes referred to as "getting baked".... ;-)
And then there's the glorious joy of combining the twain....
How about getting baked while baking? I'm sure that's one of the most empathic way of having a communion with a sourdough monster. Sometimes, sharing some of that baking substance within the cake might have interesting results.
