I've always found it amusing how the biggest paladins of anything related to gender are the ones making most noise about an issue, whereas those of us who don't give two fucks about the issue don't even give it enough thought to stand for one or the other extreme of the spectrum. It's interesting, people will always keep bitterly arguing about such social issues because that's the whole point of being in a society, or rather, it is an unavoidable consequence of being in a society: people will argue about anything, and they will always find something to argue about, bitterly, sometimes to extreme lengths. It reminds me of the "big-end/small-end" argument in Gulliver, or computers. I choose to stay out of conflicts that hold no meaning for me, such as what kind of pronouns people like most. It is quite amusing, too, that people kill themselves and others over grammar.
