Oh goodie, the server certificate thing has seemingly been rectified!
Thank you, m15o! (assuming that's who fixed it)
~bartender, another beer, if you will.
So what, listening to some music, this russian music really gets me in the mood. I just sit here, as comfortably as I can, sipping my beer and looking at the pubgoers, and try to catch an interesting conversation here and there. But the pub has been very quiet, a bit gloomy, if you ask me. I like that, it fits my mood. So I just sit here, thinking that later I may read Journey to the West or The Brothers Karamazov... idk. My brain is tired from reading the other kind of stuff, the non-fiction. Especially the math, the languages, all that stuff. I just want to relax now, listen to some music, enjoy the evening. The pub is nice, it's always open, unlike the tea place, which only opens a couple times a day, a bit too early in the morning, a bit too late in the evening. The pub is always open and it lets me sit here and enjoy my drink as long as I want. I like that it is slow, it lets me think. I'm happy to have left the other, bustling places of activity. They were doing me no good. They are no good, they are mind poison, for real.
So what, let me sit here, enjoy my beer, and my book, come tell me what's on your mind, I'm happy to hear, I do enjoy the company, even if I don't like people. Fuck people. But the pubgoers are alright. I don't mind them. I won't be going anywhere right now, I'll be staying here in this quiet corner and I'll be happy if I see some interesting conversation take place, at least I know I'm in a place I like.
~bartender, do you have peanuts?

I *finally* won a two-deck solitaire game I coded in Lua many, many months ago. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of my game, because it's something my sister learned in college many decades ago, and whoever taught her didn't know the name, so she and my dad and I have since simply called it "The Game".
What's important about winning my Lua version was I finally got to see the code path to the words "YOU WON!" exercised. Quite a while ago I started wondering if winning taking so long might have been more a coding error than my own ineptitude.
It's two different things writing a program to run a game and being able to beat it.
I do remember when I was 15 I coded up a simple shooter that everybody found very difficult but for me it was very easy, but that was because I knew all of the mechanics by heart. In the case of your solitaire game, you didn't even invent it, you just implemented it!
Whoa! I just read that Cartoon Network ditched its website! The world is *definitely* ending!!!
Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day.
Well, except that a little while ago 'curl' (because I prefer posting by way of script) started complaining a la "curl: (60) SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired", indicating it's a server problem, which I imagine means it's the Midnight Pub site's problem.
So I hopped/skipped from the terminal to Chrome, to see the good 'ole "Your connection is not private" thingie.
I'm not Joe Biden enough to imagine unto becoming convinced this is a case of Russian Interference(tm), but it sucks nevertheless....
I keep praying for the russians to come and interfere.
Those prayers were answered in 2020! ;-)
