Isn't there some individualism in other species besides us? I mean it wouldn't do group any good if everyone was the same would it?

Not that "we" care that much about the well being of the "group" as much as "we" did even 10 years ago. People by becoming more individualistic they separate from each other and maybe becoming more similar in a sense to each other which doesn't lead the "group" to be any better?.

Hard to say while lost in the dream of being an individual. Individuals see individuality in animals, but that's hardly proof, unless considering faith that it's so to be sufficient proof.

But what's the alternative? Without individualism are we just primal desires?

It's tricky in that attempting to end it reinforces it by requiring an individual to attempt to end it.

It simply ends, like a movie/dream/nightmare, like the proverbial snake suddenly seen to be but a rope - except more thoroughly for the seeming snake seer disappearing with the seeming snake.
