ding, dong, the gig is dead

        last day of work
          in this gig

        what began with
        promise and hope
         did time grind
       to friction weary
              dust
  of mathematically inversive
           proportion

     so a couple weeks off
         but not really
    mostly prep for the next
      one-wheeled landing

      but also a backyard
         musical event
      no doubt as arduous
         as likely fun

         muah muah muah
  bellows the devil's delight
       at the thought of
     inhabiting yet another
tear-moistened, smouldering pile
           of details
