None of the two, but sometime ago I did a few Irish lessons on duolingo, very interesting language, but very hard, and I already forgot everything, but I hope I'll pick it up agains someday.
Croeso a nos da! By any random chance, are there other Welsh speakers/learners here?

Helo a bore da! Sut wyt ti? (Hi and good morning, how are you?) 😃 I have also done some of the Irish Gaelic lessons on Duolingo and plan to return to them at some point.
My impression is that Cymraeg has easier/more phonetic orthography than Irish Gaelic. Also the system of mutations seems a bit more intuitive, but that could be a function of how the Duolingo course as well as SaySomethingInWelsh introduce them.
Not speaker, neither learner, but I have a lot of family in Wales (mostly all father side family). It is more ten years I didn't see them, I am very bad to keep contact with people.
That's cool about your family connection though! I have mostly Scottish-Irish background through my father's side but some of the family names further back in the tree are traditionally Welsh, so I have wanted to learn a Celtic language for a long time, and Welsh seems to have the most resources/most vibrant community of speakers.
