Hello glad I found the midnight.pub. It's very refreshing to see people actually have conversations and not starting flame wars.
I am mysliceoftheweb and I live in TX with my wife and two kids. I am so heartbroken for those who lost their lives in Uvalde yesterday. It's very senseless and evil. I don't really know how to process it. I'm sure that like me you ask why. But the truth is we might never know why and thats what is so hard about this. Make sure you hug your kids because you truly don't know if it will be the last. I am not sure what the answer is to this problem either. I think a big part of it is mental health.
Anyways I just wanted to say hi and I hope to be a "regular" here. :)

A friend of mine is having a baby now. What can you say? "Welcome to this wonderful planet, little one, it is full of wonders!" And then cut out the explanation about a significant portion of weirdos.
Am I allowed to sit on the terrace of the bar, sip a coffee and have a nice conversation with a newcomer? YES! Definitely! Remember folks, if we do not nurture our own candle, how can we shine a little light of hope in the shadow of the dragons? We are not destined to live our lives in the dark.

Welcome! The news lately has been really hard to sit with and process so, I hope the pub will be able to offer you at least some sort of comfort during these difficult times...glad to see a new face here at the Midnight Pub!
