weird, I formed a somewhat online/offline parody since leaving social media (took a couple years after having left, probably) to where I volunteer at clubhouse, online after - or - don't volunteer at all, stay home, online sparingly - or - at home, just not online. I came around to the concept/term AFK, which I didn't think I'd ever relate to much.

Nevertheless, the sound issue sounds shitty, which my best bud B probably could have helped with, as he has done pro sound checks/stagehand "gigging" for 20+ years, and goes between Kansas City, St Louis (where he's at) and Chicago a couple times a month, and he would have had it rigged up "listenable" in no time. Though he's there, doing that, you're there, doing that, so...ya know.

"AFK" looks vaguely familiar (is that the symbol of the concept/term, or am I so off, here, that it was just part of your describing the concept/term?), but I'm not remembering - or never knew - what it stood for i.e. re-presents.

But, whatever. The important thing is I got a tffb reply!

Away From Keyboard. Viewpoint that online life is the same to "in real" life. So instead of saying "irl" when referring to In Real Life, they say "when AFK". Or, instead of saying "oh I was not online" one would say "I was AFK".

Two rough examples

hello and good morning

Oooh, love that. Perhaps there's an even more general case that's more slick than AFKAORTPS, i.e. "away from keyboard and/or touch pad/screen" so tablets and "smart"phones are included?

yea AFK may indicate one is, in fact USING a physical, QWERTY/foggie button board. Term doesn't reflect as well on phone: "LAFABS,LH,HA" Looked Away For A Brief Second, Life Happened, Hi Again"
