Wassail!

~softwarepagan

Hello everyone!

I suppose I should introduce myself. Those of you in the Matrix room know me well, but I figured I should re-introduce myself since it's been a long time since I've participated here.

I'm Travis, a 30-something libertine polyamorous polyglot, (somewhat) traditionalist/reconstructionist English heathen and aspiring homesteader from central North America.

I enjoy reading about spirituality, philosophy, computing, history, linguistics and esoterica. I am hopelessly addicted to coffee. There are few things I enjoy more than good beer in good company. Preferably around a bonfire in the middle of nowhere.

Feel free to drop me a line on Matrix or here if you so wish.

You can find me on Bearblog too at https://softwarepagan.bearblog.dev/

Hello, are you me? We seem to have similar interests! Except for the "libertine polyamorous" part, but I'm sure we can manage.

There's another difference, whereas you may be a software pagan, I'm more of a software heretic, iconoclast, and maybe even a downright satanist!

Good thing I'm an adult who can disagree with my friends, lol. I get along with anyone who tries to be decent, live up to their responsibilities, and keep their word.

Wow, love the 'softwarepagan' moniker!

Glad you stopped by. Please be sure to stay. I say that in reference to the plethora of what might be called "hello world introductions" followed by eternally dead silence that I keep taking too personally for reasons I still don't understand. :-)

Thanks! It comes from someone calling me a "software vegan" for trying to only use FOSS, plus well, paganism, lol.

And I've been here before, I only left because I was re-doing my online identity.

I keep thinking I want infinite identity, i.e. a new identity every time I post.

But then I remember the real bondage is to the "I" that has occurred four times in the first two sentences of this reply.

Thus does it become apparent that freedom must lie in zero identity.

Hmmm. Would refraining from any/every form of I/me accomplish that?

Or would zero consist of never posting again?

Anyway, thanks for the reminder that most if not all of "my" (BZZZT!) problems are rooted in identity, of there allegedly being a some*one* to have problems....

Welcome back, freshly new identity instantiation! :-)
