There are some things ants can't stand. I believe white wine vinegar is one of them. You need to eradicate the trails more than you need to eradicate individual ants.

Yep. Wife said similar things about trails and vinegar-ishness and such.

  • But* my fun little killing spree, combined with some poison, combined with removing a clinging/climbing plant that provided a superhighway for their eager journeys into our kitchen worked - although I guess that removal constituted addressing the main trail.

In other (past) related news (not to hijack your own Pub post ;)) my best friend B, who I've known since 7, is having a birthday today (he is 43, I believe) and a sinkhole just developed in his backyard. I recall this because me and my Father and two uncles had just finished repairing a sinkhole 30+ years ago, when it was discovered the kitchen had become infested with ants. I smashed many with a half bent butter knife before we sprayed, remembering to never use the bent "ant smash knife" again during mealtime.

Hope your day works out, ha. More coffee here, too!
