It's always an interesting exercise to shift the perspective from which you view and experience reality.
For example, this moment, right now, from a very normal perspective (and indeed probably the best one for most of the time) is just a regular moment, but...
To some version of you, this is ten, twenty, thirty years ago. What would that version of you think of what you're doing right now? What would they change? There will come a time when you'd give up everything to get this time back. Maybe this is "before the accident" for you, or "before the diagnosis" or "before [x] passed away." You never know.
To some personhood that exists somewhere in time and/or space, this moment is ten million years ago, at the height of an ancient alien civilization.
To someone in the distant past, this moment is the incomprehensible future.
To someone in the not-too distant future, you're a great-great-great grandparent (likely, don't get mad at me, people who get mad at this kind of thing)
To some ancestor, you are all that is left of them.
This makes for an interesting meditation. Hug your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you.
