Maybe some kind of collective icecast server would be best? I'd suggest shoutcast but it's not FOSS...

I think this is a really cool idea! Surely we have some way to put this together...
You'd think! It'd be super cool. We could have weird bumpers between songs and podcasts and things. I'm actually not 100% sure how internet radio works but I'd volunteer to help.
This reminds me, who else remembers that virtual DJ website from like 2009 where you were an animal on stage in a concert room behind a laptop and you could play music for the attendees in the room? The back of your laptop also had the logo for whatever operating system you were using to access the website. I remember that they had the Ubuntu logo for Linux machines that was fairly rare (since everyone used Apple and Windows machines) so I installed a VM just so I could have my laptop appear as a Linux machine. (I didn't now about useragent then)
"dj website animals" doesn't show results
I think you might be thinking of turntable.fm - which has just relaunched! :)
Tilderadio.org is a similar crowd to the geminauts...
Yes, there are tilderadio and anonradio that do this. People sign up to DJ at particular times, but there's also open mic time.
Maybe we can start a Clubhouse session?
I'm unfamiliar with Clubhouse - I'll have to look into it.
It’s all the buzz right now. Seems like an interesting platform to host a panel discussion.
