Friday on my mind ...

Friday afternoon, I left work 10 minutes early (achievement?). My SO is out and about, so doesn't that sound like a grand opportunity for a cheap stroll through the park with a final detour 'round Midnight? Yes it does!

So while I close in on the dark alley my mind goes through cycles of grumpy dissatisfaction ... I have been fighting with the ticket system all day long. Tickets are the currency of project managers. Of course I understand that their world ends at the ticket, because it's my role to understand reality behind the ticket. So I often argue "Do you want the job done or a pretty ticket? Exclusive or, that is." Sigh. No, the ticket system and myself will not become friends in the foreseeable future. It makes me grumpy fast, this stuff.

By now I can see the door of the Midnight. It opens to the magic spell, it swings open with ease --- seems like the bats are gone and ~bartender has cleared the wired mess they made. There's a note in the entrance: "Don't consider the terrace at this time. Jone." Hmmm. No coffee outside. It must be one of these days.

~bartender? How are you? All well? That's nice. I'll have a stout please, ah, and a coffee, just because.

As I take a seat, I notice ~inquiry. On the table there's his axe polished and sharpened --- looks really good, like a trustworthy tool from times gone by. Hey. He gives me a grin. "Want to try the axe on the damn ticket system?" He breaks into hysterical laughter. "Did work really well, last time ... " he adds with a good chuckle. Maybe I should consider. If just my hand would stop hurting, they have not been well for months. That makes me grumpy, too. Bad times for snowflakes, I guess.

My stout and coffee arrives. ~bartender did a little cardamom and vanilla experiment on the coffee, or so it seems. Nice!
