I took a craps for the first time in a couple years, Monday afternoon

We happen to have a casino in town, which we've been to a few times this year after a couple year COVID-motivated hiatus, primarily due to some juicy "free money" enticement. But I didn't get back with the craps table - first because they no longer have a "five dollar table", and second because it can be kind of a time commitment, and we've been just too damned busy.

BUT a couple of my wife's cousins were in down this past weekend, staying through Monday, so we met them there Monday, and after a small slots loss I meandered to the one ten dollar table open just slightly stressed. Would anyone remember me (especially since I'm no longer in the ponytail zone)? Would I remember the game? How I played? Etc.?

Well, ALL the dealers remembered me, and I had a fabulous time, winning $110 (gave $5 back as dealer tip). Most of it was due to $100 from another player for my having had sufficiently fantastic a shoot to win them the so-called "feature bet", which was on the order of $2000 for them. (I didn't bet it... the odds are waaaaaaaaaay too putrid).

By, oh my, what fun! I just so love the game - especially its opportunities for great banter with the dealers and other players.

It's not too hard to read up on bet odds and such so as to be at least slightly smart about bets.

But at ten bucks a bet, I mostly just placed a "Don't Come" bet after point was established. The dark side has slightly better odds, and waiting until point is established means winding up on a number that doesn't constitute "playing against the table", which some players find offensive. So....

I definitely *didn't* misread this post title at first and think to myself "Ow, sounds painful" 😂😆

No one ever said that being isolated islands of conceptuality assuming and/or pretending common symbols map to the same meanings would be easy. :-)
