3rd Decan of Taurus

~mellita

No, I'm not blowing open the gates of each astrologically-apportioned ten day period so punctually as I once did. Sue me! I still intend, however, to land a post *sometime* within each decan.

I'm doing a little better lately, in general, and I sincerely hope everyone else is doing well, also. My medical ventures have made substantial progress; the future appears brighter than at almost any other time I can think of this past year or so.

I'm reading quite a lot, and quite enjoying what I read: 'The Reverberator' by Henry James; 'Go Tell It on the Mountain' by James Baldwin; 'Wise Blood' by Flannery O'Connor; and the poetry of John Ashbery. (I haven't finished any of these just yet, mind you; I can't help but hop around a lot between books.) I read that O'Connor novel in High School and its been entertaining to feel my very faint memories of its contents reinforced and justified, but also sometimes contradicted, by the novel's actual contents.

The earth turns, the seasons molt one into the other, and time passes. How is everyone doing?

Noswaith dda, mellita -- good to see you and to know you're doing better. Yes, we're actually just a couple degrees off of being able to mark the beginning of the 1st decan of Gemini (so very appropriate for where we're all finding ourselves interacting here :) )

As far as reading goes, I've been lacking the last little while, although I've been slowly chipping away at reading "Barddas" by Iolo Morganwg and "The Tombs of Atuan" by LeGuin.

I've never heard of "Barddas". What's that about?

I've heard wonderful things about LeGuin but have yet to give her a proper read. How do you like her?

"Barddas" is Iolo Morganwg's exposition of Bardism/Druidry -- a very interesting text, IMO, and a pretty fundamental one in connection to the revival/continuation of the Welsh Bardic tradtion.

As for LeGuin, I've mainly read short stories and fantasy by her so far, rather than her SF works (which are on the list). I like her stuff a lot, especially for the Taoist influences interwoven.
