I am just happy to see more and more signs of a decaying empire, despite the ever shrinking group of people still in denial of this fact.

I've never been more jaded or apathetic about US politics and I hate that. I'd been very politically conscious since the 2004 election. I miss when we could at least pick between two functional adults. (I never would have thought I'd be calling Dubya a "functional adult" but here we are...)
Ugh, you mean MORE politicians??
(The daily spit in my face):
The asshat (on subject) who shot at Trump's ear is named Thomas Matthew Crooks, bastardizing my first and middle name, Thomas Matthew O'Lxxxx. Not as harsh as my Uncle Tom's funeral some months back (I didn't attend, bad familial relationships) where the funeral home roster read "viewing for Thomas Matthew O'Lxxxx (yea, they HAD to go w/ Thomas Matthew instead of Matthew Thomas (sounds folk band-ish) bc of elder relatives names, and me needing to be named after them).
Long live TMloghead and no other! :)
I can't tell ya how much I miss the term 'asshat'!
Go read write.as/tttlog, I babbled about a photo. Also, every gets deleted from tttlog after a few days, so check i while ya can!
I visit periodically, i.e. when it comes to mind. But if there's any chance I'm going to be hit in the face with a great term like 'asshat' on a more regular basis, well, I guess I need to be increasing my visitation frequency accordingly! ;-)
I've not listened to or watched any "news" regarding the Trump shooting, because 'news' and 'fiction' became synonyms for me long ago, and I'm more drawn to the potential for interaction than - as news media itself refers to its own content - "stories".
You could fix that by abandoning the two party system ;)

Unlikely: puny little self-interested/serving minds seemingly can't rise above two options: an option that agrees with ***ME***, and an option that doesn't agree with ***ME***.
(Notice the underlying actual issue/problem?)
For sure, even in my country where we have multiple parties, you see the same effect. They tend to band together in the left or right corner and passive aggressively trash talk the other group.
If you could at least get a third party, you could rename the term to assassassination.
